Governance

The Student Union of IFE is divided into three branches.

Student Assembly (Legislature) The Student Assembly is the governing body of the Student Union and consists of about 120 members (10 elected members from each year, 2 elected members per clubs, and members of the Executive committee). Its activities are in accordance with the constitution of the Student Union.

Executive Committee (Executive) The Head of the Executive Committee is the General Secretary who is elected by the Executive Eommittee and approved by the Steering Committee. The Executive Committee manages the day-to-day activities of the Union. There are different departments in the Executive Committee including Human Resource, Marketing and Finance.

Control Council (Judiciary) The Control Council consists of a chair and two members all of whom are elected by the Student Assembly. The chair of the Control Council is the Chief of Justice.

The Chairperson of the Student Union is responsible for presiding over all meetings of the Student Assembly. The Chairperson is also the chair of the steering committee. Even though the chairperson is not head of executive committee, he/she needs to sign all decisions made by the committee.

Representatives of the Student Assembly and the Chair of the Student Union are elected and appointed between October and November of each academic year.
